Introduction

Welcome to the website of Michael Jaeger.

Professional Interests

I am working at Savento, a small company working on archiving data in SAP systems. Here, I am responsible for research and development of server and client software. Moreover, I am doing project management and consulting.

The following technologies are focus of my professional interests.

SAP Archiving-related Issues

Everything related to SAP archiving, ranging from ABAP development to ArchiveLink-related topics are part of my professional focus. I am interested in migration of data and documents, conversion of documents, analysis of data, optimizing archiving systems, and interfacing archive solutions. Part of my work is described on my Savento profile.

Big Data

Analysis of Log-files becomes a problem when the amount of data passes a certain threshold. Here, I am interested in managing this data effectively to allow comfortable management of data.

Performance

In the archiving environment, performance is an important topic. I developed various solutions to boost the access to archived documents for migration which results in significant speed gains.

Eclipse RCP

For client-based solutions I am very happy with the Eclipse Rich Client platform. As of 2011 I started developing with e4 and was very impressed about the improvements made. Besides that I already did development with Eclipse back in 2008.

Research Activities

I was working as a researcher at the Berlin University of Technology (TU Berlin). My focus is on self-organization in distributed systems. Before this, I did some research on security and wrote my master thesis in this field entitled ``Electronic Payment Systems for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks''.

Currently, I hold a scholarship by Deutsche Telekom Stiftung. Thank you very much! This way, I'm able to work on my ph.d. thesis entitled ``Self-Organizing Publish/Subscribe Systems''.

My group is the Communication and Operating Systems Group. Before that I've been a member of the group Intelligent Networks and Distributed Systems Management.
